My name is Dr. Sitelle Cheskey and I am taking over the practice of Dr. Emilie Meyers. As I accept this practice, I have had to make some difficult decisions regarding my ability to provide care to patients. It has become clear that because of barriers to coordinating care, investigations, and receiving results for patients residing out of the province of Ontario; I do not feel that I can provide you with the standard of care required to meet your health-care needs.

I therefore regret to inform you that I will not be able to provide you with further medical services after January 1, 2023. Until that time, I will continue to offer you care while you look for a new family physician. Please know that I have not come to this decision lightly and I sincerely believe it to be in the best interest of patients.

I urge you to obtain another physician or primary health-care provider as soon as possible. With your consent, I will be pleased to provide them with a copy or summary of your medical records. I will also ensure appropriate follow-up on all laboratory and test results still outstanding. I will respond to requests for prescription renewals and address them as clinically appropriate.

You may also wish to contact your local hospital to see whether any physicians on staff are accepting new patients. Lastly, some physicians, including those who are new to an area or who are beginning to establish a practice, will advertise that they are accepting new patients. There are also several walk-in clinics and Community Health Centres/CLSCs in the Ottawa and Gatineau area that will be able to see you. Appletree Medical Group, Clinique Medigo and Clinique Marleen Tasse are notable examples.
