The healthy daily water intake is the body weight multiplied by 35-40 ml (so a 60-kg person should drink 2.1-2.4 liters per day). "Drinking water" habit isn't something that suddenly appears from nowhere, its's something you develop. With these few tricks you will adopt a healthy habit and make it stick:
- Drink 1 glass of water first thing in the morning to immediately rehydrate your body.
- We often mistake thirst for hunger, so try drinking water 20 minutes before mealtime to prevent overeating.
- Be creative and keep it natural: infuse water with fresh fruit, veggies and berries.
- Use apps and gadgets to help you track your water intake.
- To make the process more entertaining use a fancy water bottle or glasses with colorful straws instead of boring plastic cups.
- Always keep water at hand: when it's right in front of you, it's much easier to remember to have a sip here and there.
- Bring along a bottle of water at all times: whenever you go out for a walk or on a bike ride.
At a certain point you will no longer need any reminders: you'll be drinking enough water by force of habit. Be sure, as soon as your body starts getting enough water on a regular basis you will notice improvements in your overall health.
