Getting started with exercise can be overwhelming and rough. But we are here to help you. Below are some of the most commonly asked questions about the first workout.
Q: Where do I start?Start with choosing comfortable and well-fitted workout clothes that allow you to move without restriction. For ladies investing in a supportive sports bra is an essential part of positive workout experience. And don’t forget to wear sneakers even when exercising at home, it will help avoid foot injuries.
Also a quick tip: enable warm-up and cool-down in the app to prepare your muscles for a workout and help your body get back into resting mode after your training is complete.
Q: Do I need any equipment to work out with the app?All the equipment you’ll need for working out is already in your house. Most of our exercises are equipment-free, but there are few that may require a chair to perform. All lying down exercises should be done on the floor. So to perform them use a yoga mat, a woven blanket or a large piece of fabric for your convenience. If you feel that workouts are too easy for you, add plastic bottles filled with water for extra resistance.
Q: What if I have no time to exercise? Our workouts are designed for your convenience, we’ve managed to keep them short and without any special equipment. So you could set your morning alarm 10 minutes earlier which is enough time for the entire workout. Or if you’re not a trouble sleeper, you can blend a short slow-paced training into your pre-sleep routine.
Q:How to get motivated for a workout?Start with putting your workout clothes on - that’s the first step of getting motivated to exercise. Then turn on some upbeat music and let it pump you up for your training. You could listen to workout mixes straight from our app. Just choose the playlist you like and get ready for a motivation boost.
Q: What if I don’t know how to perform exercises? No worries, we took care of that. Our coach will show you how to perform each exercise and will guide you through every part of your training with video and audio instructions. So if you don’t like looking on the screen of your phone while working out, you can put it down and just follow our audio instructions.
Q: Should I eat before workouts?Yes, fueling your body with the right nutrients will give you enough energy for physical activity. Try to choose healthy carbs and eat a 100- to 200-calorie snack 15 to 60 minutes before working out. And make sure to avoid overeating 2-3 hours before exercising.
Here are some examples of good pre-workout snacks that will help you get the most of your training sessions:
And remember, it’s totally fine to feel nervous or anxious before starting a new workout routine. Everyone has felt it at some point. Focus on following your new routine at a comfortable pace and your anxiety will fade away over time. Try to begin gradually and don’t push yourself too soon, it’s okay to stop when you need to catch your breath. And keep in mind, you’re just starting out, so don’t be too hard on yourself.
Good luck with your first workout! You’ve got this!
