Most of us are familiar with the lingering feeling of tiredness after work or too much activity or just too much thinking. We use an abundance of stimulants like caffeine to stay focused and be able to function adequately. Using stimulants, however, may result in high blood pressure and you might feel even more tired at the end of the day. Meditation, on the other hand, is proven to increase your productivity and efficiency and to have plenty of health benefits. Compared to sleeping, which boosts your energy too, one hour of meditation is said to equal up to ten hours of sound sleep.
Meditation makes you feel aware of your feelings and emotions. And the feeling of drowsiness is certainly worth observing. During the mediation, it is important not to resist this feeling, but rather sink into it. You need to relax and allow yourself to be tired. When you focus on the state of being tired, observe this sensation. With every deep breath slowly start exploring your body and mind trying to locate where this feeling is coming from. Scan your entire body from head to toes. When you listen to your senses, you understand better whether you are tired physically or emotionally, whether this feeling is pleasant or unpleasant, whether it is a new feeling or it’s been here for a while. And sometimes the tired feeling simply disappears. It may vanish by itself, and you will feel very refreshed. With this meditation, you can be filled with renewed energy and be able to rejuvenate yourself.
By concentrating on the immediate feeling of tiredness when you meditate, you will understand your body and mind better, and you’ll find that your mind became clearer, and after that point, your practice becomes more productive.
