HIIT and Tabata are the two main trends in the fitness world, but which one to choose?
Rely on your fitness level. Tabata has shorter work and rest periods than HIIT, which makes it a more intense type of workout. If you had a long break in your training, or you’re just starting your fitness journey, you’d be better off selecting HIIT. Tabata is an advanced workout that requires a higher fitness level to complete.
Listen to your body during both HIIT and Tabata training. Vary your pace based on how you feel. If nothing bothers you and your workout goes smoothly, try to give 100% of your effort to get the maximum benefit out of the training.
Tabata might be too intense as a daily workout. Incorporate two or three Tabata sessions to your weekly workout plan or alternate with HIIT for an optimal training load.
