Out of these 16 cases, 12 ended in war and conflicts, the other 4 were more peaceful transition. I think what China and U.S. should aim at is not like the 12 cases that ended in war and conflicts, nor should it be something similar to the other 4 cases of relatively peaceful transition, because we are not working for the transition of global dominance from one country to another. We should aim at building a new type of mutually beneficial partnership to confront common challenges. We should aim at building a new community of shared interests between us.
