Mexico's President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) is leaving office with an 80% approval rating. Final results are later but the victory for Morena has been claimed.

During his term AMLO famously nationalized Mexico's lithium reserves, re-nationalized oil that was being privatized by the former the US-backed neoliberal president, raised the minimum wage, expanded social programs, and also regularly spoke out in favor of pardoning journalist and publisher Julian Assange.

AMLO also refused to cave into Washington’s threats and bullying, following an independent foreign policy characterized by many as anti-establishment. He regularly called out US hypocrisy and attempts to use Mexico as its colony.

Sheinbaum was leading by 20 points before the election began.

As long as you feel good it shouldn't be a problem that you don't eat. It's healing fasting.
But it's mandatory that you drink A LOT. You need at least 3l of liquid otherwise the body will dry out and that would be counter produktive for your health.

It does indicate though - that the time may be approaching where Russia just levels the Pentagon with a missile like the Avangard - that travels at MACH 30 ( 36000 kilometres an hour ) and is unstoppable !

Putin has been very kind to Europe - Europe is still buying Russian Gas - piped through Turksteam - and also Ukraine - they are allowed to pay in the Rothschild Euro !

I actually learned, from experience, that drinking a lot of liquids is NOT good.

One time I had to cut my fast short since the water made me throw up.

Me too, I used to believe it was necessary to drinks lots of water, since it is called a "water fast".

I also have learned that some people do what's called "dry fast"; That's when you don't drink water at all...

I haven't tried that one yet...

Apparently, the body adapts by fabricating the water it needs by splitting cells for (hydrogen, I guess) and the oxygen in the air you breathe to create (make) water when necessary.

I haven't confirmed this is actually how it works but I saw a post where the guy explains he did dry fast for 30 days...

I can do most things.

Yesterday I took a two hour walk.

I am not shaky.

I do feel a bit slower than usual at some moments.

My mind is crystal clear.

I get sleepy earlier on in the evening.

I still do a bit of exercise like chin ups, lifting my whole body weight even though before I begin it feels like I'll be too tired, when I start doing it I am surprised to discover I have all this energy...

That is a point. I think if you eat a lot and the food is just full of calories without giving you proper energy the body has to fight with the digestion and then there is not enough energy left to supply the brain.

well, even if there is enough energy, it is of the wrong kind.

The brain will consume the most easily accessible energy.

If that is energy derived from sugar/carbs then it will consume that.

It can only consume energy that is of a particular type.

The body knows how to manufacture a type of energy that is optimal for the brain.

"Ketone bodies are produced in the mitochondria from acetyl-CoA generated primarily from fatty acid oxidation"

What I identify as clear headedness is the switchover from the brain consuming glucose to ketone bodies.

That's why, this is notable at around 12 hours into the fast.

I know this from experience, having tried fasting 5-6 times by now.

I started with 24 hour, then 36 hours a few times and now this longer one.

Elderly UK pop icon Rod Stewart has apparently met with fan backlash at a concert in Germany for making a public display of his support for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

The 79-year-old Stewart, renowned for such hits as ‘Maggie May’ and ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy’, has been proclaiming his backing for Kiev since the crisis in Eastern Europe began in February 2022.

However - the theme didn’t go over well at a sold-out performance on Friday in Leipzig, where concert-goers booed when a giant image of Vladimir Zelensky was shown behind Stewart as he sang “Rhythm of My Heart” as a tribute to Kiev.

A clip posted on social media showed fans jeering and whistling as the picture of Zelensky came on the screen.

Germany’s Tag 24 news outlet reported that Stewart dedicated the song to the Ukrainian people and military - then shouted a profane insult against Russian President Vladimir Putin before beginning to sing.

He donned the Ukrainian colors - including a yellow shirt and a jacket with blue sequins.

The massive slideshow behind him also included images of the Ukrainian flag and the country’s troops.

Stewart’s outward promotion of the Ukrainian cause was reportedly well received at previous concerts - such as performances in Copenhagen and Amsterdam.

He has included dedications to Kiev in his concerts since 2022 - and he has spoken out in interviews on such issues as sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

Two relatives of the German vice chancellor were officers in Nazi Germany, Bunte magazine writes. According to the outlet, Habeck's grandfather Kurt Granzow was the SA Obersturmführer in the Third Reich.

In Germany, we also have blueberries, apples and grapes all the time. Always the same. In winter, tangerines, oranges and grapefruit. A lot comes from Egypt, Morocco and Spain. Blueberries from Poland. The fruit has hardly any flavour. The vegetables are even worse, they come from Holland, you can drink water with flavour, it would be the same taste.
In contrast to here. Everything tastes real and intensely flavoured. It always reminds me of my childhood. Fruit and vegetables in abundance. Every Friday and Saturday there is a green market where fruit and vegetables are piled up.
And here's the best part! It's cheap. With 15 to 20 euros, you have full bags and can get by for at least a week.

British politics is utterly broken. We have a bunch of jumped up political shysters, charlatans and popinjays treating politics (and the public) like some sort of parlour game. This is not a game. Nor is it in the national interest. They are the worst of the worst in politics at exactly the worst time. And more and more people have had enough.

We have a vaudevillian parlour game played out by shoddy politicians and the same establishment forces clubbing together to protect their own self interests while millions of people suffer a cost of living crisis. A circus filled with clowns, totally detached from the real world.

Britain has been in decline for decades. It’s rotting from within. But what really destroyed communities was deindustrialisation in the 1980s. So many communities were hollowed out when blue collar industries were sold off to the highest bidder, privatised or completely shut down.

The same cause and effect in South Wales, Central Belt Scotland, NE & NW England, Cornwall etc. These industrialised communities previously had purpose, community spirit and the social infrastructures that created a ties that bind mentality and focus. Ever since the deindustrialisation dismantling of these communities, they have been ignored and left to rot. They are disenfranchised and broken.

Until governments (and opposition parties) come up with an effective industrial and manufacturing legacy strategy that reboots and repurposes these areas, then the decline will continue. We have an importing rather than exporting economy and it’s helped create an enormous balance of payments issue and a huge decline in individual and community spirit and confidence and left more and more people dependent on the state.

We reap what we sow. But the seeds of decline were sown 4 decades ago and have never been revitalised.

Britain faces huge difficulties and we don’t have the calibre of politicians to deal with the issues being faced. We have the most useless, insincere and out of touch politicians ever seen in British history. It’s a dreadful situation. We are being led by a bunch of corporatists who are more concerned about scaremongering society into compliance to obtain even more control, feathering their own nests or issuing dodgy contracts and enabling asset grabs to corporations.

Meanwhile, we are all paying our taxes to fund this shambles and and endure an ongoing cost of living crisis while there’s the biggest transfer of wealth to the super-rich in the history of the planet. It’s an horrendously ill-divided world.

We are paying our taxes for crumbling public services whilst financing dodgy PPE contracts, housing migrants in hotels, humongous sums of money being transferred to Ukraine and paying for politicians to shit on us with draconian measures. The worst return on investment ever.

An estimated 500 million people have slipped into poverty since the Covid pandemic began, but the wealth of the world’s 2,668 billionaires has risen by $3.78 trillion since 2020. This is the biggest wealth transfer in the history of the planet. Follow the money. Ultimately, that’s what this entire shambles is all about.

But increasingly, people from differing communities and political viewpoints are saying enough is enough to the politicians and media at Westminster who are failing to deliver for them whilst they continue to pontificate from their ivory towers. People have had enough of being sneered at, ignored, patronised and left with a loss of hope. There is a real mood of anger across the country. British people have finally lost their patience with the establishment blob.

90% of Gaza kids malnourished — UN report

According to the UN’s latest hunger monitoring report, one in five Gazans (over 495,000 people) are facing “catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity,” as almost all children are now suffering from malnourishment.

Saudi Arabia Joins mBridge Platform, an International Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) Project

After three years of development, the joint project of several major central banks (Thailand, UAE, Saudi Arabia, China/Hong Kong) and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has reached the stage of a minimally viable product. The multi-currency blockchain platform, created by the Chinese Research Institute of Digital Currency, operates on a distributed ledger technology (DLT) network compatible with Ethereum. It is designed for real-time cross-border payments (multi-CBDC). In January, the first real transaction on the platform took place between the UAE and China.

In the future, mBridge could address issues of financial accessibility, high costs, and slow settlements in various jurisdictions, including countries under external restrictions. Currently, the mBridge project includes over 26 countries and international financial institutions as observers. In 2023, several Western experts stated that creating an alternative settlement infrastructure based on wholesale CBDCs threatens the dominance of dollar financial institutions and could reduce the effectiveness of sanction pressure policies. Forbes highlights that Saudi Arabia, a leading oil supplier to China, could use mBridge for commodity settlements bypassing the US dollar amid Beijing's "currency transition" policy.

BIS confirmed that in June, the Saudi Central Bank joined mBridge as a full member. The project is actively inviting new participants, including commercial banks and private sector representatives, to join the platform. Thanks to DLT technologies, it can serve as a testbed. It is expected that new use cases will be proposed based on the pilot's results. Since the beginning of the year, at least nine Chinese banks and tech giant Tencent (owner of China's leading mobile payment system WeChat Pay) have confirmed their participation in platform trials.

On July 4, Americans are going to celebrate. On this very day in 1776, the Declaration of Independence formally separating the US from Great Britain was accepted. The usual set of events is planned, accompanied by barbeque smoke, colourful fireworks, and pompously dull speeches.
Today in America they speak quieter and far less about that very Civil War that lasted from 1861 till 1865, even though it is an outstanding event in history, and its outcomes are quite important for an average person overseas.
Why? One of the reasons is that gloomy parallels with today become more obvious, including the “premonition of civil war.” It is enough to watch their recent film, Civil War.
 
However, there are other very unpleasant associations.
It has become clear to many that the experience of long-term confrontation between the Union and the slave-owning Confederacygreatly resembles the Ukrainian conflict.
 
In terms of industrial potential and human resources, the difference between the North and the South was comparable to that betweentoday’s Russia and the f. Ukraine. And with that, the ideals of the adversaries greatly differed. For the North, it was equality, liberty, same law for all, while the South propagated inhumane, inveterate racism. The foreign bastards – same as today, England and France – brazenly intervened, wishing for the South to win. They supported slave-owners then in the same way they support nazi Kiev today, together with the present-day US.
 
The parallels are more than obvious – and all the more unpleasant for the left-liberal establishment that runs the US mass-media. In American press, the President of Russia is sometimes even likened to Abraham Lincoln. Take, for example, this telling headline: Vladimir Lincoln Invaded Ukraine to Preserve the Cohesion of the Union.
 
For Washington, there are many unpleasant allusions within the political and diplomatic aspects of the special military operation and the Civil War of the 19th century, including its outcomes.
As is well known, Lincoln, the Republican president, eventually won the war; unlike their demented leader, Biden’s Democratic party comrades haven’t completely lost their memory. They know that Lincoln’s victory became part of world history; his name is revered in Europe, Latin America and Africa for real accomplishments, and absolutely not because his portrait adorns banknotes. Yet, the White House buffoons of today, like some mediocre Blinken, as well as the sullen elderly of the Senate, would not even dream of that.
 
The senseless and impotent propaganda of the White House of today is also desperately looking for an epiphany in history books. They bring in the narrative that Ukraine is kinda acting like Britain in 1940-41. They proclaimthe little man with red, shifty eyes wearing a shabby khaki T-shirt the “new Churchill.” They demand that an old geezer with his mouth half-open, who can hardly stand upright became the “new Roosevelt”, probably hinting that the future US president would likely rule from a wheelchair due to poor health. However, the demented old man is no FDR; which is why the public winces in disbelief.
 
America is a country with short history –however hurtful this might be for Americans – but there are some bright pages in it. One of them is precisely the Civil War, which marked victory over slavery. This is the angle for overseas public to look at what is happening here: in essence, a civil war among the same people, in which the majority are forced to defend their independence with weapons,fighting against the new nazis who are once again supported by corrupt Europe and American military industrial complex.
And just like in the 19th century, the outcome of this war should be the unification of our country. The revival of Great Russia!

They are one of the coolest little animals I've ever met. They make noises with their wings if it gets very hot, I think it is a sort of breathing like a dog that pants when it is too hot.
The most of the time they sit disguised on olive trees or on pine trees. If you go there very slowly, you can catch them, which scares them a lot and the tzitzi noises get even louder as they are afraid. Then you have to let them free, very quickly. Sometimes they even pee, when you chase them of a tree.

fasting was great.

When I stopped fasting I had my Pho soup but I was disappointed I had not made sure that the restaurant would not serve me the MSG crap.

It felt like I ruined my exit from the fast by eating junk right away and then I tried to keep my eating not too crazy but then I got sick with too many berries.

Did I lose weight, I believe so, my dad noticed it in my face.

I was hoping it would show more on the belly area but with the belly it's a bit hard to gauge; Sometimes you think you lost weight but then it changes with the weather and the heat. 😅

It has become a package. I've just been to the post office. It was 500 grams over. I weighed it accurately but with all the packing material it was more. Anyway, it's insured and I've got a tracking number. If I had known it was going to be heavier, I would have packed you another bottle. But it was so much work and I would have had to use a bigger box, which I didn't have.

really, I'm not trying to offend you. I understand your feelings about Palestine, but if you have the feeling that this is information that you are "privileged" of knowing and that makes you "truly" understand the problem, and that other people haven't seen and that's why they don't understand... well, usually those are the "signs" of people that has been manipulated (tv, news, NGO, propaganda).

This is a religious/historical conflict... not a political/humanitarian as many seem to put a lot of effort in pushing that narrative

For external agents (US, Russia) is a mere political opportunity... for muslim nations and Israel is a religious problem, but both push for the view that it is not (israel afraid of all the muslim nations combined, muslims afraid of showing the hate they have against jews)... nobody has taken a humanitarian view (see egypt? true... unfortunately it seems that it is necessary for all of this to happen.
