The grand chessboard is taking shape - but it is not the one the US had planned on !
Yemen is going to be a VERY Important part of the new world economic order - led by BRICS and China's Belt and Road - which of course Yemen has joined !
The Belt and Road will be going overland by high speed rail and there are two very Important ' links ' that will be developed to put this seamless puzzle together !
One is the Strait of Malacca that separates Indonesia and Malaysia and is about 40 klms wide at its narrowest point - the other is the Bab-el-Mandeb Straight which separates Yemen from Africa and is 26 klms wide at its narrowest point !
In "Bab-el-Mandeb" "Bab" means "gate" while "Mandeb" means "lamentation" or "grief". ( how Ironic )
The distance across is about 26 kilometres (16 mi) from Ras Menheli in Yemen to Ras Siyyan in Djibouti.
The island of Perim divides the strait into two channels - of which the eastern, known as the Bab Iskender (Alexander's Strait), is 5.37 kilometres (3.34 mi) wide and 29 metres - 96 feet (16 fathoms) deep - while the western or Dact-el-Mayun - has a width of 20.3 kilometres (12.6 mi) and a depth of 310 metres; 1,020 feet (170 fathoms).
China - in cooperation with Indonesia/Malaysia and Yemen/Djibouti ( ALL have joined the Belt and Road ) will build bridges across these straights - commerce will BOOM !

Russia and Iran ditch SWIFT
Iran and Russia have officially switched from the West’s SWIFT system to a direct interbank transfers mechanism - the deputy head of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has said.
Mohsen Karimi told Iranian state television on Sunday that the system allows companies in both countries to trade in their respective national currencies instead of using the dollar or euro - FARS news agency reported.
“We have linked the financial correspondence networks of the two countries,” he explained.
“This means that the banks of our two countries no longer need Switzerland to communicate with each other and commercial banks of both countries can establish brokerage relations with each other.
The [Iranian] exporter can now charge the Russian side in rials and receive money from them via Russian banks in Iran,” Karimi added - noting that the system also allows for payments in Russian rubles.

Last Friday, news broke that American blogger Gonzalo Lira died in a Ukrainian prison following months of likely torture, extortion, and medical neglect. The Biden administration did not lift a finger to help him in any way throughout the ordeal.
Such blatant indifference is completely at odds with how Russia tries to help its citizens who find themselves in trouble abroad, write Sputnik correspondent Russell Bentley (@TXDPR). Nowhere is this more evident than in the story of Rafi Jabar, an Afghan who gained Russian citizenship for his years of service in the Donetsk People’s militia.
In mid-2023, Jabar took a trip back to Afghanistan to visit family and old friends. While there, the Donbass veteran was arrested by local authorities on false charges. The Russian embassy in Kabul quickly leapt into action to secure his release and President Vladimir Putin personally intervened, leading to Jabar being freed within 27 days.

Farmers' protests have spread across Europe, urging governments of the bloc to maintain subsidies and reduce taxes which are eating away at their profits.
🇩🇪 German farmers have been in the streets since last December over Berlin's fuel subsidy cuts and reduction of tax breaks;
🚂 German railway employees kicked off a six-day strike on January 24 for shorter working hours and higher salaries;
🇷🇴🇵🇱🇱🇹 Romanian, Polish and Lithuanian farmers need subsidies and tax cuts as fuel prices bite; they are also concerned by "uncontrolled food imports" from neighboring Ukraine;

Il-76 shootdown provoked by NATO to ‘burn bridges’ of communication between Russia and Ukraine
“I believe [the PoW-carrying Il-76 shootdown] was an operation prepared ahead of time. Because the Ukrainian air defense system fired without turning on its radar, that is, fired using external target designation means. Such means are possessed by the Americans and the British, who are now factually managing the conflict in Ukraine,” veteran Russian military analyst Alexei Leonkov told Sputnik.
The Il-76 shootdown has cast doubt on the possibility of continued Russian-Ukrainian prisoner exchanges – which until this point served as one of the last major channels of communication and cooperation between Moscow and Kiev. It was also the latest in a long chain of provocations by London, Leonkov emphasized, recalling former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s central role in breaking off peace talks in the spring of 2022, and newly tapped Foreign Secretary David Cameron’s recent remarks about the UK being “prepared to support” Ukraine through the year 2026.
